Thanksgiving day
Today was a great day. We all slept in and finally rolled out of bed at 10 am. It felt so good to be lazy. The boys played and took a nap, the three older kids played with each other and then got showered and ready to go to family dinner. Dave laid on the couch and took a nap before turkey dinner and I sat and read in my book for about an hour before I decided I better get off my fanny and go get ready. By 1:45 we were out the door and in the car all ready to go. We went to Alice's house and had an incredible dinner. We stuffed ourselves until we were all going to pop and rolled ourselves around the house a little at a time hoping that for some strange reason we would create more room in our ridiculously over stuffed bellies so that we could go back for a pain staking round 2. Some of us were able to do it, others just were content sitting and visiting. We always have so much fun at family functions everyone is so friendly and we all get along. There were only two small incidences. It involved 3 of our kids and 1 nephew. The first incident happened when Kenai and Kanyon were downstairs playing nice together and playing on both sides of the foozball table and yes you guessed it. Kanyon pushed the one side of the foozball handle and the stick slammed out the other side and nailed Kenai in the mouth and cut his lip and he bled all over his shirt and Morganne's and she ran him upstairs to me where I tried calmly to clean up his mouth but I never react well to my kids bleeding. But no stitches were needed so we are very happy about that. He is now asleep and doing fine. The other incident was Corbin and Ryleigh were sharing a chair and Corbin did not want her that close anymore and she was not expecting it and he pushed her off and she crashed to the floor. She was fine but got her feelings hurt. Boy cousins are so sweet. Any how I am exhausted from all the triptifan so off to bed I go. Have a great night everyone.

Long cold days
Today I woke up and didn't want to get out of bed because it was freezing in my house and my bed was really really warm. But I have responsibilities and they have names. So I got up and woke the kids up to get ready for school. After they got up I went back to bed for about 20 minutes and was in heaven. The boys had not gotten out of bed yet and the other kids were showering and bathing, (in seperate bathrooms). So it was so nice to rest for a little bit longer. Then the two older kids left for school and I dashed off and took Ryleigh to school then ran to Highland to drop a bunch of stuff off at my friends house. Visited briefly then came home. Fixed lunch, fed the boys and Ryleigh came home and ate lunch, the boys went to bed and I started cleaning. Hopeing that my husband would be able to come home to a clean house. Have you ever noticed cleaning is like money? My husband always complains that he works and works and works and for what? We are still broke. Ha can you say 7 people to take care of. Anyway that's like cleaning. I clean and clean and clean and for what??? 6 people mess it up and it starts all over again but that's life. I'm not complaining HA. Just wondering how to not be annoyed at normal things. I got the house clean and cooked dinner, we all ate and went outside. Talk about frickin freezing. I am so bugged. I forgot how much I don't like the cold. I had my friend and her family and her sister and her family come over and pick apples. Well shake apples off the tree. The tree was way to tall to get very many down. So clever people decided to climb the tree and shake the limbs and all the apples came plummiting to the earth with viscous intention. I was not about to stand under the tree and get a concussion. That was not on todays agenda. But it was lots of fun, other that I froze my butt off. Well not really it's still there unfortunatly. But anyhow, came in got kids to bed and now boring someone with my story but I'm not a journal writer and this is as close as I will ever come. So bear with me. I'm off to bed now so I can start a whole other day tomorrow. Any ideas of what I should cook for dinner tomorrow? I'm thinking something in the crockpot. Goodnight all.

SUPRISE!
NO! I'm not pregnant. The surprise is pretty funny now that I'm awake. I was sound asleep this morning at 6 am, and Dave turned off the alarm and got up and went to get into the shower. I heard a little commotion and went back to sleep. Then around 6:30 Dave walks into the bedroom and turned on the hall light so he wouldn't blind me to get ready for work and said "mom, someone wants to see you". My first thought I hate to admit was ugh, I'm not done sleeping, then Kanyon come's into our bedroom soaking wet, and I said what happened. Dave said he was in the shower and heard the bathroom door open and he looked and saw no one. Then a few seconds later he heard Kanyon grunting and opened the shower door and there he stood wide awake. He thinks it's really funny that he now knows how to climb out of his crib and wander around the house opening doors. At 6am. I on the other hand don't think it's very funny because whatever he learns he teaches his brother and visa versa. I'm in a huge amount of trouble. Now that I'm awake and not bugged my much needed beauty rest was disturbed, I do think it is cute that he woke up and wanted a shower with dad. It's funny how one guesture can give two people opposite reactions. It always makes Dave's day when the boys are up before he leaves for work so he can say goodbye. But on the other hand it always makes my day worse, thay are cranky and nap way way to early in the morning and then they are awnry all evening. Anyhow, they are both napping right now and as I sit on the computer yet again, Ryleigh is sitting next to me creating lots of pictures, crowns, and presents for my friend Jarid and his dog Lily. She is so silly. This bag of "presents" she has for them is full. But she's content and that's fine by me. I will talk about my day later, for now that's it. Bye.

Babies not sleeping
Today my twins decided to get up at around 7 am, not to bad. But the morning was a whirlwind from there. I had to wake my oldest up to get ready for school, then my second, had to get up and he didn't want to wake up. So that was a fight. Then Morganne decided it was everyone else's fault that she could't find her jacket or shoes, even though I washed her jacket and put it in the closet. Also she has a tote specifically for her shoes, but she claims someone took them out. NOT!!! She later found both right where she put them, in her room on the floor. Then after 10 minutes arguing about blaming others for her mistakes, she yelled at me she was going to be late, and Hunter still hadn't taken a shower and by this time, it was time to leave, but luckily it was raining so we had a little extra time because I could drive them. Then Ryleigh decided to get up and wander out while I have four others swirling around me and the crazy morning. AHHH. I can't believe I don't have gray hair. Then I threw the younger three in the tub and asked mom to watch them while I took Hunter and Morganne to school. I came home from dropping the kids off to find a mountain of water all over the bathroom floor, at this time is was only 9:05 am. Then I rushed Ryleigh to eat breakfast and fed the twins and got her dressed and off to preschool. Whew I can breathe for a minute, oh wait nope. The twins need their diapers changed and they are ready for a nap at 10 am. I wanted them to wait so I wouldn't have to wake them to get Ryleigh at 11:30, but I did and we came home, had lunch and now I have two minutes to bore everyone with my morning routine. I wonder why mothers enjoy massages, pedicure's, manicures and getting their hair done. Maybe it's a small way of having alone time, but not without guilt. You worry the whole time if they are destrying what you cleaned before you left. If dad will feed them, if homework is getting done, if you will have enought time to put dinner on the table or if it's going to have to be pizza again. But despite all the exhausting work, worry and fun, I wouldn't trade my life for ANYTHING. Thanks to my husband and children, I am blessed to be called MOM. Thanks for listenening for today. Jen

Fun at the park
Yesterday we went to Liberty Park in Salt Lake and we had so much fun. I will be honest I am a chicken. My husband and I kept an eagle eye on our kids, but it was mostly my husband. That park is huge and in the middle of SLC and I was worried about one of our kids getting kidnapped. We went to the park to begin with because we were meeting up with some of my friends from high school. I was so thrilled to see everyone. Some of them I have not seen since 1996 ahhh. That's a long time. But my one of my friends I had seen about 7 years ago, but still way too long. I loved being around everyone and seeing what they have been up to over the years. I felt really old when I saw that everyone else was NOT 16. That's the last memory I had of them and it threw me off, then I evaluated how much I've changed and it's depressing. I hope that we don't lose touch again, I really enjoy making friends over again. Thank you to everyone for an amazing time and wonderful memories, I am blessed to have you in my life. That's all for now, thanks for reading!

Game day
Have you ever noticed, when the mom is out, the kids go crazy?
They seem to know the dad has had a long day at work and just when to get busy getting into trouble.
As soon as we learn all the tricks our twin boys know, they come up with two more each!!!
I thought I would be a good husband and let my wife go out and have some alone time. In a three hour period I changed as many poop filled diapers. Yuck!!! There is a special place in heaven for moms.
Just another thought, when we tell the five kids its bed time, why do they get hungry, thirsty , anything but tired? They won't take a bath all day unless you make them, bed time, I need to take a bath!

Day one
After watching Julie and Julia, I have been inspired to try something new myself!!! Of course when I say that I mean my wife and I.
I would like to talk about the joys of raising five kids, the youngest being twin boys it can get a bit exciting. Just ask them about taking the shower head down and filling up the bathroom as their own little swimming pool!
Look forward to hearing about the joys of raising our family and getting to know us!
